basics
What is the Badass Human Race?+
It is an urban obstacle event built for real people, not only elite athletes. Austin is planned as approximately three miles with 15 or more obstacles. Run it, walk it, ask for help and keep moving.
When and where is the Austin event?+
TBD Badass Human Race Austin is planned for October 2027. The exact date, venue, course, start and finish locations, and schedule will be announced after final approvals.
How long is the course?+
Plan for approximately three urban miles. The official route will be released closer to race day and may change for permitting, weather or safety.
Who can participate?+
The current plan is for participants age 16 and older. Participants who are 16 or 17 will need a parent or legal guardian to complete the waiver. Final age requirements will appear before registration opens.
What is included with general admission?+
General admission is expected to include a race bib, course access, participant hydration, festival access and a finisher medal after completing the course. Final inclusions will be shown when tickets launch.
Will there be a VIP option?+
TBD A limited VIP experience is planned. Benefits, pricing and availability will be announced with registration.

& teams
How do I register?+
Tickets are coming soon. Join the Austin 2027 priority list for early access to pricing, wave times and VIP registration.
Can I register with a team?+
Yes. Team registration is planned. You will be able to create a team or join one during registration; the final process will be posted when tickets launch.
How can my team race together?+
Each teammate should select the same available wave. Waves have limited capacity, so teammates should coordinate and register early.
Are registrations refundable or transferable?+
TBD The final 2027 refund and transfer policy will be displayed before purchase. Expect entries to be nonrefundable unless the registration page states otherwise, and use only the official transfer option if offered.
Do I need to sign a waiver?+
Yes. Every participant must have a completed waiver before receiving a bib or entering the course. A parent or legal guardian must complete the waiver for anyone under 18.

Race
day
What time will I start?+
TBD Participants will select an available start wave during registration. The complete wave schedule will be published before tickets go on sale.
How early should I arrive?+
Plan to arrive 30–45 minutes before your wave, but not before gates open. The pre-race guide will include parking, check-in and warm-up timing.
What if I miss my wave?+
Go to the information booth. Staff may move you to the next available opportunity if capacity and safety allow, but another start time cannot be guaranteed.
Where do I check in or pick up my packet?+
TBD Packet-pickup dates, hours and locations will be announced closer to race day. Bring the photo ID and registration confirmation requested in the event guide.
Will there be a bag drop?+
TBD A limited bag-drop area is planned. Size limits, hours and any fee will be included in the event guide. Leave valuables at home.
What should I wear and bring?+
Wear athletic clothing and shoes you are comfortable getting wet or dirty. Bring sunscreen, sun protection, a refillable bottle if desired and a change of clothes. Gloves are optional.
What happens if the weather is bad?+
The event proceeds when conditions are safe. Severe weather or other hazards may require course changes, delays, postponement or cancellation under the published event policy.

Obstacles
& safety
Do I have to complete every obstacle?+
No. Skip an obstacle if you do not feel comfortable attempting it. A substitute movement or penalty area may apply; final obstacle rules will be in the event guide.
What are the Austin obstacles?+
TBD The course is planned with 15 or more obstacles. The lineup will be revealed closer to race day and may change for safety, permitting or course conditions.
Will water be available on the course?+
Participant hydration is planned at designated points. Exact locations will appear on the course map. Personal hydration may be carried if it complies with the final allowed-items policy.
Will medical support be available?+
Yes. Race-day safety and medical support will be available. Tell the nearest staff member immediately if you or another participant needs help; call 911 for an emergency.
What if I have a health or fitness concern?+
Train for the distance and obstacles at an appropriate level. Consult a qualified health professional before participating if you have concerns, and stop during the event if you feel unwell.
